Executive Orders & The Playbook
What is the "Urgent National Action to Save College Sports" Executive Order?
Signed on April 3, 2026, Executive Order 14400 fundamentally restructures college sports to protect women's, Olympic, and mid-major sports from out-of-control financial arms races. Major rules rolling out on August 1st include:
-
The "5 for 5" Rule: Athletes are permitted no more than a 5-year period to play 5 college seasons (protecting eligibility during injuries).
-
Transfer Restrictions: Athletes are allowed to transfer with immediate playing eligibility only once during that 5-year window (plus one additional time if they graduate with a 4-year degree first).
-
NIL Crackdowns: Cracking down on artificial "pay-to-play" roster-bidding schemes while putting caps on spending to keep smaller colleges competitive.
What is the "2026-27 Playbook for HS Families to Win with College Sports"?
The rules of recruiting change permanently on August 1st. This tactical playbook is designed explicitly to help high school athlete families navigate the new Executive Order rules, avoid costly recruiting mistakes, and secure a "first-mover advantage" before the 5-year clock starts ticking.
